There was a time when private landlords managing their own rental properties may have been appropriate. With the greatest respect to those landlords – unless they have a number of rental properties and treat it as a business by ensuring that they are experts in all respects, they need to consider the services of an appropriate Property Management company. Unfortunately, there’s still the odd ‘cowboy’ Property Manager in operation and we all know that the Real Estate companies look on property management as a cash-flow buffer when the sales market takes a dive. Thankfully if you are reading this you’ve realised that property management is a highly specialised industry in NZ now and we are fortunate here at Propertyscouts to have great structures and processes in place and the benefit of a supportive head office, nimble enough to ensure that we are all kept abreast of law changes. As we like to say we are small enough to be personal but big enough to be experts.
